In information submitted to Ballotpedia, Dunlap stated, "I value personal freedom, and do not think that government should dictate personal decisions, preferences or morality."[1]
He went on to say, "My hope is to create a Kansas that anyone would want to live in. To accomplish this, we MUST fund our schools to make them the best in the country. We must take care of the elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged among us as they have the quietest voice and the most vulnerability. We must strive to make Kansas better for our children than it was for us. To do these things, we must ensure we have a fair tax structure that does not favor the few at the expense of the many. We must ensure that we have upward opportunity through education and training options. We must ensure that we have a world-class infrastructure."[1]
