Johnny Gaffney
Johnny Gaffney (b. June 26, 1960) is a former Democratic member of the Jacksonville City Council in Florida, representing District 7 from 2007 to 2015.[1][2]
Local and state election laws required Gaffney to resign from the council in February 2015 because he ran in the Democratic primary election for District 13 of the Florida House of Representatives on December 16, 2014.[3]

Reggie Fullwood defeated Johnny Gaffney in the Democratic primary, while Lawrence M. Jefferson was unopposed in the Republican primary. Fullwood defeated Jefferson in the special election on February 17.[4][5][6]
The seat was vacant following Reggie Fullwood's (D) disqualification during the 2014 elections.[7]
A special election for the position of Florida House of Representatives District 13 was called for February 17, with a primary on December 16, 2014. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was October 22, 2014.[8]
