Johnny Joannou
Johnny S. Joannou is a former Democratic member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing District 79 from 1997 to 2016. He previously served in the chamber from 1975 to 1983.
Joannou served in the Virginia State Senate from 1984 to 1991.
Biography
Joannou earned his B.S. in public administration from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1962 and his L.L.B. from T.C. Williams School of Law, University of Richmond in 1969. Joannou is an attorney with the firm of Joannou, Knowles & Associates.[1]

Elections for the Virginia House of Delegates took place in 2015. A primary election was held on June 9, 2015. The general election took place on November 3, 2015. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 26, 2015.[2] Incumbent Johnny Joannou was defeated by Steve Heretick in the Democratic primary. Heretick was unchallenged in the general election.[3][4]

2013
Joannou won re-election in the 2013 election for Virginia House of Delegates District 79. Joannou ran unopposed in the June 11th Democratic Primary. He was unopposed in the general election, which took place on November 5, 2013.[5]
2011
On November 8, 2011, Joannou won re-election to District 79 of the Virginia House of Delegates. He was uncontested in the August 23 primary and ran unopposed in the November 8 general election.[6]
2009
In 2009, Joannou was re-elected to the Virginia House of Delegates.[7]
