Johnson & Wayne Township Road Levy Renewals, 2 (November 2011)
Two Johnson & Wayne Township Road Levy Renewal measures were on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the townships of Johnson and Wayne which are in Champaign County.
Both measures were approved
The Johnson measure sought to renew the current road levy which is set at a rate of $.10 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for road and bridge construction and repair costs in the township.
The Wayne measure sought to renew the current road levy which is set at a rate of $.25 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for road and bridge construction and repair costs in the township.[1]

The question on the ballot:
Johnson Measure:A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Johnson Township (Exclusive of the Village of St. Paris) for the purpose of GENERAL CONSTRUCTION, RECONSTRUCTION, RESURFACING AND REPAIRS OF STREETS, ROADS AND BRIDGES at a rate not exceeding 1 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.10 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five years, commencing in 2011, first due in calendar year 2012.
Wayne Measure:A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Wayne Township for the purpose of GENERAL CONSTRUCTION, RECONSTRUCTION, RESURFACING AND REPAIR OF ROADS at a rate not exceeding 2.5 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.25 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[3] |
