The Joint Select Committee on Collective Bargaining is a joint select committee of the Florida Legislature.
Joint committees of the Florida State Legislature are assigned by the Speaker in the House and by the President in the Senate.[1][2] The President of the Senate shall appoint a member of the Senate to serve as the chair, and the Speaker shall appoint a member of the House to serve as vice-chair for the Legislative Auditing Committee and the Committee on Public Counsel Oversight from the organization session until noon on August 1 of the calendar year following the general election.[3] The Speaker shall appoint a member of the House to serve as the chair, and the President of the Senate shall appoint a member of the Senate to serve as vice chair for the Legislative Auditing Committee and the Committee on Public Counsel Oversight from noon on August 1 of the calendar year following the general election until the next general election.[4] For the the Administrative Procedures Committee, the Speaker shall appoint a member of the House to serve as the chair, and the President of the Senate shall appoint a member of the Senate to serve as vice chair for the period from the Organization Session until noon on August 1 of the calendar year following the general election, and the President shall appoint a member of the Senate to serve as the chair, and the Speaker shall appoint a member of the House of Representatives to serve as the vice chair, for the period from noon on August 1 of the calendar year following the general election until the next general election.[5] The majority of members in each house make up a joint committees quorum.[6]
