Bailey won re-election to the Rockwall Independent School District school board to represent Place 4 in Texas outright after the general election on May 4, 2019, was canceled.

General election
The general election was canceled. Jon Bailey (Nonpartisan) won without appearing on the ballot.
2016
Two of the seven seats on the Rockwall Independent School District board of trustees were up for general election on May 7, 2016. Place 4 incumbent Jon Bailey and Place 5 incumbent Jim White were the only candidates to file for the two seats up for election. This election was canceled by the school district due to lack of opposition.[1]
