Jon Dzurak was a candidate for Area I representative on the Elmbrook School District school board in Wisconsin. Dzurak was defeated in the by-district general election on April 4, 2017.

Biography

Dzurak's professional experience includes serving as assistant principal and athletic administrator at Milwaukee High School of the Arts in Milwaukee Public Schools. He earned a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Wisconsin. Dzurak earned a master's degree in special education from Cardinal Stritch University and a doctorate in education from the University of Sarasota.[1]

Three of seven seats on the Elmbrook School District Board of Education were up for at-large general election on April 4, 2017. A primary election was held for the Area III seat on February 21, 2017. Area III incumbent Tom Gehl did not file for re-election, leaving the seat open. Jian Sun and Leanne Wied advanced to the general election after defeating Jimmy Schulgit in the primary. In the general election, Sun won the seat. In the race for the vacant Area I seat, Allison Malnar defeated Jon Dzurak. At-large incumbent Kathryn Wilson won another term without opposition.[2]
