Noteworthy Events

Felony Conviction (2012)

In 2012, Johnson was investigated and indicted for misappropriating FEMA recovery funds awarded to a nonprofit organization he operated. Johnson pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy to commit theft of government funds and to submit false documents to a federal agency. [1]

On November 29, 2012, A federal judge sentenced him to 6 months of incarceration, 6 months on house arrest, and followed by 3 months of probation. The Court ordered Johnson to pay $79,691 in restitution to FEMA and fined him $5,000.[1] Johnson was released from federal prison on July 19, 2013.[2]
