Aside from providing pain relief and amazing care, Dr. Petrick also selflessly serves the community in which he lives. He has served on many boards, as an example the Opportunity Village (an organization that provides work opportunities for individuals with mental disabilities).

He personally developed and created Keep It Simple-Make It Fun (KISMIFLV.org). This is his own Recreation and Leisure program for individuals with mental and physical disabilities. His program provides camping, hiking, canoeing, fishing, and other fun outdoor activities for those with physical and mental disabilities. For over 10 years he spent weekends volunteering with the non-profit that he started.

In addition to the leisure programs. KISMIF is his passion and his out-of-office love. Furthermore, Dr. Petrick is a co-participant in cutting-edge research dealing with individuals with Downs Syndrome. His work is considered somewhat out of the box and could possibly change the lives of millions of people who have Downs’s syndrome and their families.
Healthcare

As a physician for over 20 years, this is my foremost concern for both our state and nation.

I understand the shortcomings of our current healthcare system which continues to disenfranchise people from effectively managing their own health outcomes.
We must pivot away from our inherently flawed system, and transition from “sick-care” to true “healthcare”.

Our focus should be on prevention rather than treatment while encouraging people to take responsibility for their own health.
