Jon Stafsholt
Jon Stafsholt was a judge for the Eighth District Court of Minnesota, serving Pope County. He was appointed to the court on June 20, 1983, and was elected to full terms in 1984, 1990, 1996, 2002 and 2008. He then retired on April 30, 2013, and served as a senior judge until June 30, 2015.[1]
Education
Stafsholt holds an A.A. degree from California Lutheran University, B.A. (Spanish) and B.J. (Journalism) degrees from the University of Missouri (1965), and a J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Law School (1972).[1]
Career
Stafsholt began his legal career in 1972 as a general practice lawyer in Elbow Lake, Minnesota. He worked in this capacity until his judicial appointment in 1983. Also, from 1979 to 1983, he served in the public sector as a Grant County Attorney.[1]
