Jon Thorup
Jon Thorup (Republican Party) was a member of the Iowa House of Representatives, representing District 28. He assumed office on January 1, 2019. He left office on January 1, 2023.
Thorup (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Iowa House of Representatives to represent District 37. He lost in the Republican primary on June 7, 2022.
Thorup also ran for election to the Iowa State Senate to represent District 19. He did not appear on the ballot for the Republican primary on June 7, 2022.
Biography
Jon Thorup was born in Knoxville, Iowa. He graduated from Knoxville High School. He attended the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy and became a state police officer and then a road trooper. He volunteered as a firefighter and transferred to the State Fire Marshall. He has been a member of the board for the State Patrol Officers Council and the Iowa State Troopers Association.[1]
