With 10 years in the transportation industry, Jon Welch is a intricate member of the San Juan Islands community. As port manager for the Orcas Island ferry terminal, Jon opens and closes the island. First Responders, supply chain operators, and every day people have come to trust Jon to keep things moving. Opening a small restaurant in 2009, Jon understands the struggles of maintaining a small business under ever growing economic restraint. Cool headed and innovative, Jon Welch has been a leader for Washington State Ferry contract negotiations and blue collar jobs, and believes that now is the time to turn the tide for a better Washington. Running a normal campaign in 2022 seems almost insulting. As a man of integrity, it's time to set aside partisan distractions. No matter where you go, shelves are empty and the cost of living is high. Washingtonians are going to work, so they can buy gas in order to go back to work. And, while we worry about fuel and formula shortages this year, we will have food and housing shortages next year. Real people from all walks of life support the changes I will negotiate for in Congress. Fighting Inflation, fuel costs, and reckless Federal spending. Campaign platforms should be put on pause, until we can turn the tide against recession and another housing bubble 2.0. As someone who has been dealing with Washington state bureaucracies for a decade, I am perfectly poised to create positive impact for Northwest Washingtonians on a Federal level.
  • Common sense Americans unilaterally reject the lethargic and irratic policies that have driven our nation to the brink of economic recession. During Covid lock downs, we spent a lot of time washing our hands and ensuring cleanliness. Yet, for the last 14 months our our government leadership seems to be only using one hand and cold water in their decision making. The 2022 Election gives Washingtonians the oppertunity to untie the other hand, and turn on the full power of human ingenuity. Once elected to Congress, I will sponsor a inflation tax refund for Middle Class Americans who are still taking the full brunt of Bidenomics on the chin.
  • Inflationary Spending Bills coming out of Washington DC, must be curtailed immediately! The last time Congress was audited, was during Newt Gingrich's Contract With America. As a precursor to rebuilding the American economy, it is imperative that the spending policies of Federal agencies must be audited. Given the $12.5 billion dollars the IRS received in the February Omnibus, there should be plenty on resources to uncover how American tax dollars get spent. In the 2021 November Infrastructure Bill, Washington state received $8.6 billion dollars. Most of this money will pay for the new I-5 bridge in to Portland. However, in the same Inflationary Spending Bill, Amtrac received $66 billion dollars. The DC audacity has been out of control.
  • Finally, we put America back together the way it was. Most candidates running for office this year will say these words at one time or another. However, that's no longer enough. The old husk of career politicians and bureaucratic red tape are a 20th century death loop of power. While retooling federal agencies, the effort to set the groundwork towards a fifth industrial revolution must be laid in earnest. Washingtonians must not be satisfied with the proverbial crumbs of E cars. When, Fast Reactors, Mag/Lev, Magnetohydrodynamics, Desalination, Deep Water Turbines, and Hydrogen are the clean energy technologies within our grasp. The industrialism and ingenuity of the American people must be unrestricted.
Senator Joe Biden wrote the Senate's version of the Clinton Crime Bill. This was the last time that Congress was involved in law enforcement legislation. And yet, rising crime is now a part of our daily lives. I am very passionate about reforming the Federal involvement in law enforcement and requiring a better standard for deadbeat prosecutors.

At the brink of recession, President Biden brags that Americans are better off now more than ever. I am very passionate about breaking the control of Wall Street over the Federal Reserve Bank. And, returning to a Constitutional right given to Congress to form a Central Bank. Which, would unleash an economic freedom that has never been seen in our history. And, opens the doors for a myriad of start up businesses to launch.
