Jonathan Barfield was a 2014 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 7th Congressional District of North Carolina.[1] Barfield won the nomination in the Democratic primary on May 6, 2014.[2] He was then defeated by David Rouzer (R) in the general election on November 4, 2014.[3]

Barfield has served as a New Hanover County Commissioner since December 2008.[1]

Barfield is a realtor and owner of Barfield & Associates Realty, LLC.[1] He has lived in New Hanover County, NC since age one. Barfield is active in several community organizations, including:

Barfield ran in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent North Carolina's 7th District. Barfield won the nomination in the Democratic primary on May 6, 2014.[2] He later lost to David Rouzer (R) in the general election.[3] The general election took place on November 4, 2014.[5]

North Carolina's 7th Congressional District was an open seat in the 2014 elections after incumbent Rep. Mike McIntyre announced his retirement on January 8, 2014.[6]
