Jonathan Chun

Jonathan Chun was a per diem judge for the Kaua`i Fifth Circuit District Court in Hawaii. He was appointed by Chief Justice Mark Recktenwald on January 13, 2014, for a term that expired on January 12, 2015. This was a part-time position, and Chun served on the court as-needed.[1][2]
Education
Chun received his undergraduate degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1978 and his J.D. degree from the Gonzaga University School of Law in 1981.[1]
Career
Chun previously worked for the Fifth Circuit as appointed counsel to the grand jury. He became a part-time per diem judge in 2014, while a managing partner at Belles Graham Proudfoot Wilson & Chun, LLP. Prior to joining that firm, he served as a member of the Hawaii State Senate for District 7 from 1998 to 2002. From 1992 to 1998, Chun served as a first deputy county attorney for Kauai County and prior to that, from 1984 to 1992, he was the corporate counsel for the city and county of Honolulu. He began his career as an associate with the White & Tom law firm, which focused on real estate and banking law. He worked there from 1981 to 1984.[1]
