Jonathan Hayes is a judge of the Superior Court of Sacramento County in California. Hayes assumed office on March 25, 2021. Hayes' current term ends on January 8, 2029.
Hayes won re-election for judge of the Superior Court of Sacramento County in California outright in the primary on June 7, 2022, after the primary and general election were canceled.
He was appointed to the court on March 25, 2021 by Gavin Newsom (D) to replace Alan G. Perkins.[1]
Although California Superior Court judges are elected in nonpartisan elections, a press release from Gov. Newsom's office announcing Hayes' appointment on March 25, 2021, identified him as a Democrat.[1]
Biography
Hayes received his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. He was a Law Clerk at Dreyer Babich Buccola Wood Campora LLP from 2000 to 2004, then an Associate from 2004 to 2013, and a Partner from 2013 to his appointment to the bench.[1]
