Primary: He was defeated in the primary on August 26, 2014, receiving 23.9 percent of the vote. He competed against Claudia Robinson and Ian Richards.

Kasen earned his B.A. from San Diego State University in 1994 and his J.D. New England School of Law in 1998.[3]
Career
Kazen has five years of experience as a public defender in the Miami-Dade County Public Defenders office and nine years in private practice.[3]
