Jonathan L. Walker is a former judge for the El Paso County Court in Colorado. He was appointed to the bench by Gov. Bill Ritter (D) in May 2007. In November 2016, he was charged with alleged misconduct, including undignified and disrespectful conduct, retaliation against a member of the judicial staff, improper modification of plea agreements, and failure to disqualify himself from cases involving his personal attorney. Walker, who denied engaging in misconduct, opted to retire rather than face disciplinary proceedings. His retirement was effective February 15, 2017.[1][2]

2014

Walker was retained to the El Paso County Court, Colorado with 68.6 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [3]

The Colorado Commissions on Judicial Performance recommended that Judge Walker be Retained. The full report is available here.

2010

Walker was retained to the El Paso County Court in 2010, winning 65.39% of the vote.[4]

Walker earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from Wayne State University School of Law.[5]

Career

Prior to his judicial appointment in 2007, Walker worked as a public defender.[5]
