I am a Christian family man, an Army Special Forces veteran, a Yale University graduate, and a former private business executive.

I was born in this district, grew up on a farm here, and have been a resident of the 17th for most of my life. I am a conservative outsider challenging the political status quo as I believe Michiganders have been misserved by a political class more focused on their own interests than doing what is best for the people.

I am proud to have the endorsements of President Trump, Senator Ted Cruz, Dr. Arthur Laffer (economic advisor to President Ronald Reagan), and other national conservative leaders who understand how important Michigan is to the future of our entire country.
  • Michigan's economy has been going in the wrong direction for decades, despite many years of Republican control. Great economists from the Reagan administration to the Trump administration are supporting my fight to restart Michigan's economic engine because they know I will bring the same leadership to Michigan that they used to make america great again.
  • Michiganders have rightly lost faith in our broken and corrupt election system. Without secure elections, our system of self-governance faces a terminal condition. I am the only candidate who will use every power available to my office to secure our elections.
  • The radical left is intent on eradicating the liberty that makes Michigan, and America, great. I will defend our God-given, constitutionally-protected, rights and eliminate the possibility for further authoritarianism like we have seen under the current democrat governor.
Taxation and economic policies, election integrity, and protecting personal liberty.
My political philosophy is the same as that articulated in the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence. Our rights are God-given, the proper role of government is to secure those rights, and the power of government to do so is derived from the consent of the governed.
Morality, judgement, leadership, wisdom, and temperament are all among the characteristics we should look for in elected officials. Most importantly though, our elected officials must have the fortitude to stand up to the inherently corrupting forces at play in the political arena.
"Why did the banana go to the doctor?"

"Because he wasn't peeling well!"

This is my favorite joke because it is the first one my son told me when he began to understand humor.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Michigan

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
