Campaign themes

2018

Park provided the following description of his political philosophy to Ballotpedia:

Democratic Socialist, I support policies that put people before profit or politics, that are evidence-based, rooted in justice and stand on the right side of history. I'm running for office to give my neighbors a choice in gerrymandered district during an important election cycle. Gerrymandering and corporate money in politics is a two party problem. As a lifelong Democrat, I'm running to change the Democratic party and offer an alternative to the neoliberal agenda. Big banks, dirty fossil fuels and billionaires already have a political party, the Democratic party belongs to the people.[3][5]
—Jonathan Park, 2018

He added:

My campaign is an extension of my values, people powered, grassroots oriented with the main goals of getting out the vote, educating all voters on the power they have and expanding the electorate to disemfrachised communities that have lost faith in our democracy. [3][5]
—Jonathan Park, 2018
