Campaign themes

2015

Richardson's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]

Economic development

  • Excerpt: "We need more business development in the area. We need to diversify our business profile in North West Nashville. I will talk to banks, businesses, and community associations; credit unions and professionals in our community about economic development and business diversification for Council District #1."

Education

  • Excerpt: "We need small class sizes in Metro Council Disrtict #1. Tennessee STAR is the way to go to educate our children. The Tennessee Student Teacher Achievement Ratio project, or Project STAR, was a program that studied and measured the academic achievement of Tennessee early aged school students’ academic achievement in different class room settings, small sized classes, regular sized classes, and larger regular sized classes. Attending a small class in the early years is associated with an increased likelihood in taking college-entrance exams, especially among minority students, and is associated with higher test scores."
