Jonathan Snyder brings immense experience in the community, public, private, and nonprofit sectors earning a reputation as an innovative, results-oriented leader. Snyder serves as the Executive Pastor at Antioch Baton Rouge and is the local business owner of Pelican Janitorial, LLC.

He discovered his calling to public service at an early age. In high school, he organized humanitarian campaigns where he led the way in bringing clean drinking water and feeding programs to Haitian and Ugandan communities. In 2011, his local Rotary Club honored the accomplishments by naming him Young Person of the Year. While completing his undergraduate degree, he helped attract businesses to St. John the Baptist Parish while interning in the Economic Development department. Snyder furthered his understanding of the day-to-day realities Louisiana constituents face as he interned in Constituent Services for Governor Bobby Jindal. This set his course for a lifetime in public service.

His priorities as future Councilman include building a strong local economy through supporting small businesses, improving local infrastructure, prioritizing public safety, and creating an efficient city government that addresses the needs of residents. He earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management from Louisiana State University and will earn his MBA in early 2021.
  • Improving Community Infrastructure - daily. It is time to implement common-sense fixes that enhance our streets and neighborhoods to improve the quality of life we desire in East Baton Rouge Parish.
  • Supporting Small Businesses - As a fellow small business owner during COVID-19, it is no secret that our small businesses in Baton Rouge have been negatively impacted, some to the point of closing their doors. I plan to help stabilize and grow our local economy by ensuring we evaluate and revise our business tax system and regulations. Small businesses are the backbone of our great city and I plan to do everything in my power to help keep them around.
  • Prioritizing Safety - A high priority of mine will be to ensure the safety of our families. Each resident, regardless of zip code, should feel safe in his or her neighborhood. My team will work diligently to ensure adequate tax dollars are allocated to our first responders, including policemen, firemen, and emergency service providers to ensure the fastest response times possible.
My greatest passion in public policy is evaluating and auditing budgets to determine if public funds are being used in an efficient and effective manner. My three key messages can be summed up in we need to bring Transparency & Efficiency to EBRP Government. The lack of transparency and efficiency is no secret in Louisiana's state and local government. If elected Councilman of District 11 my team has plans on how to form a new culture of accountability and transparency. You can expect decades-old broken systems to be replaced with innovative systems to improve the way our government operates.
