Lincoln Chafee presidential campaign, 2016
In the exploratory phase, Lincoln Chafee did not have any paid staffers, telling Politico, "It’s a volunteer effort at this stage."[4] Chafee announced his presidential run on June 3, 2015.[5] As of June 2015, the campaign itself had not officially announced any staff hirings, but Stevens remained an advisor to Chafee. Chafee dropped out of the race on October 23, 2015.[6]
