Ballotpedia biographical submission form
The candidate completed Ballotpedia's biographical information submission form:
“ | What is your political philosophy?
I believe New York State's $200 billion public pension plan can be more professionally managed. I have a deep background in this field, unlike the incumbent. Is there anything you would like to add? Jonathan Trichter is the Republican candidate for New York State Comptroller. A lifelong New Yorker, Jonathan is a public finance banker and pension expert. His goal in running for State Comptroller is to realize the office's untapped potential to fix major fiscal problems plaguing the State. Trichter helped lead the restructuring of among the most distressed public safety pension plans in the country—the Jacksonville, Florida Police and Fire Pension Fund. Trichter worked with the Mayor of Jacksonville and the police and fire unions to preserve the system’s defined benefit status via a consensual process that saved the City $1.5 billion while re-funding the pension system in a reasonable period and without major benefit cuts to its members. He is a graduate of Emory University and resides in New York City on the Upper East Side of Manhattan with his wife and their son.[2] |
