Honesty, integrity, and communication. As an elected official you are entrusted to make decisions that affect constituents and you need to be able to defend and explain those decisions in a manner that is consistent with a core set of personal values.
I would love to leave a legacy as a "builder" in the Loudoun County Public Schools. Someone who expanded educational opportunities for all students, worked to close achievement gaps, made LCPS the #1 destination for educators across the commonwealth, and showed that for the most part there is consensus among all Loudoun County residents as to what excellence in education looks like.
School board members set policy, help develop the core mission and vision of a school district along with a superintendent, guide the fiscal decisions and monetary allocations of a school division, and act as a liaison between the community and the school division.
The students, parents, and employees of the Loudoun County Public Schools. The goal of developing successful, contributing members of society also ensures that the Loudoun County community at large serve as my constituents.
