Joni Cutler

Joni M. Cutler is a judge for the Second Judicial Circuit in South Dakota.[1] She was elected to the court on November 4, 2014, for a term commencing on January 6, 2015, and expiring in January 2023.[2][3]
Cutler was a former Republican member of the South Dakota State Senate, representing District 14 from 2011 to 2013
Cutler joined the South Dakota State House of Representatives in 2003. She served in that position until 2011, representing the 14th District.
Education
Cutler received her J.D. from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1995. Cutler received a BILLD certificate in legislative leadership development from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 2003 and her executive education certificate from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, in 2005.[4]

Cutler was not eligible to seek re-election because of South Dakota's term limits. She instead ran for South Dakota State Senate and defeated Cindy Schumacher (D) in the November 2 general election.
