Jonny Davis
Jonny Davis was a candidate in the 2011 special election for District 6 of the Mississippi State Senate. Although party affiliation was not listed on the special election ballot, Armstrong is a Democrat.[1] The special election took place on January 11, 2011. He ran to the fill the seat vacated by Patrick Nunnelee (R), who was elected to the U.S. House in the November 2, 2010, general election.
Biography
Davis holds a degree from the University of Mississippi and operates a property management business. He serves on the Tupelo city council. Davis is marriend to his wife, Sherry. They have two children.[2]

In an interview with local media Davis explained his decision to run: "I want a bright future for our children and grandchildren...I am the people's candidate...Whether you are white, black, Hispanic or Asian, you will have me as a representative."[3]

Davis was defeated by Nancy Adams Collins in the January 11, 2011 special election to Mississippi State Senate District 6.[4]
