Campaign website
Williams' campaign website stated the following:
Issues
Our Community, Our Priorities A campaign isn't just about a candidate; it’s about the people who call this city home. Throughout my years of service—from City Council to my work with local non-profits—I’ve learned that the best solutions come from listening to you. On this page, I am laying out my clear, actionable plans to address the challenges we face today. From infrastructure and flood management to fiscal transparency, these aren't just "issues"—they are the building blocks of our future. Let’s look at how we can work together to get us back on the right track.
Development and Growth
Our town is growing. That’s a blessing — but only if we grow the right way.
Developments like Town Center promise a master-planned, walkable community with multi-family housing, green space, and a vibrant quality of life. Done right, projects like this can strengthen our city. Done poorly, they become an entity unto themselves — disconnected from the community and placing strain on our schools, water systems, police, and fire departments.
Growth cannot be “over-dreamed and under-planned.” Before a single permit is issued, we must ensure zoning, building standards, lighting, land clearing, water access, parks, and walking trails meet the standards our families deserve. Population density brings opportunity — but it also brings responsibility. We cannot approve rooftops without planning for classrooms, emergency response, and infrastructure. That chicken-and-egg cycle stops with leadership willing to plan ahead.
Water
Water is our most critical issue.
We depend on aquifers for drinking water, but over-pumping is contributing to subsidence and foundation instability. When the ground shifts, homes and businesses pay the price. We must address inflow, outflow, detention, retention, and long-term water costs now — not after problems surface. Flooding is not just a downstream issue; it’s a shared responsibility. Water that leaves our community flows into Spring Creek, Cypress Creek, and beyond. If we don’t manage it responsibly, we push flooding onto our neighbors.
Major flood control solutions require serious coordination and, in many cases, federal partnership. Counties alone cannot shoulder this burden. Other regions created flood control districts early and funded them through dedicated tax structures. No politician likes talking about infrastructure funding — but avoiding the conversation only guarantees higher costs later. Communities that fail to address water and infrastructure have a shelf life of 50–60 years. I refuse to let that be our future.
If Lake Creek Bottom cannot serve as a detention solution, then we must responsibly identify and develop an alternative that protects both current residents and future generations.
The same principle applies to sanitation and sewage infrastructure. Capacity must match growth. Cutting corners today creates environmental and financial crises tomorrow.
Transportation
Transportation is another area where better up-front planning is non-negotiable. Road construction should minimize disruption — using temporary traffic lights, proper left-turn lanes and nighttime work when possible to protect daytime traffic flow. Smart planning reduces frustration and supports local businesses.
Community Development and History
We need to consider the overall state of our current post office. The building is in an unacceptable state of deterioration. Also we should consider adding more substations for convenience and delivery efficiency.
Most importantly, this town belongs to its people. Historically, Magnolia seemed to be a sister city to Tomball. But I believe, fortunately, we are more akin to Montgomery, in that we share a county and have a similar tax base and culture. We reflect this culture in civic participation. This is essential to our future. When citizens show up, ask questions, and stay engaged we build a stronger future together.
