I am the son of Mexican immigrants and first thing I did when obtained my naturalization in 2008 was register to vote. I am now very proud to participate in this beautiful democratic system and am determined to protect and preserve this beautiful system for our children and grand children by bringing the community together to work on the problems we face.

My father immigrated to the U.S. during WWII with $15 in his pocket, and through hard work and determination he gave us the opportunities to succeed through education that he never had. After graduating with an advance degree in resource allocation for homeland security I have worked on issues important to our homeland security including health, resilience, environment and security. While at Military University, I researched homeland security issues and worked on the White House Small Business Council Medicaid Expansion Task Force of 2010.

With my background I look forward to give back to the wonderful city that has been so good to me and my family.
  • Bring Community Together
  • Community Resilience and Preparedness
  • Health, Security, Resilience and Environment
I am most passionate about homeland security issues of public policy.

The government's most sacred duty is in providing security and helping people remain "resilient in the face of adversity".

In an era of changing climate and climatic events the risks to residents multiplies and requires a re-architecting of frameworks through which to evaluate win/reward in the allocation of the city's scarce resources.
City Council is the de facto legislative body for the city. Policy making is an intrinsic part of the job. As such there is a lot that city council can accomplish, together with the major,, in bettering our wonderful city.
I look up to Martin Luther King Jr. He once said that our capacity to love is tied to our capacity to forgive. This is so relevant in today's divided society. We need to search for our capacity to forgive and make mends if we are to advance with the challenges and opportunities we face.
For any position in government the most helpful 'principle" I believe is selfless service and commitment to the community being represented.
I believe what would make me a successful officeholder is the quality of believing and having hope in a better city and a better community.
I believe the core responsibilities of this office is to look for the security and the resilience of its residents.
I would like my legacy to be contributing to the preservation of the beautiful American democratic system.
My first job was highway construction.
My favorite book is one I am working on "Resilience in the 21st. century"
A struggles in my life has been witnessing entire communities suffering needlessly.
At large city council positions - of which there are five (5) out of sixteen (16) council seats, hold greater power than district seats in that they represent the whole city. That is, when we have a problem in our districts we actually have six (6) representatives that can help us, not just one (1) - the district one. The risk therefore exists of at-large council members who represent only certain districts at the detriment of other districts.
I do not believe experience in government or politics is necessary to hold this office. It may be beneficial but flint necessary as government and politics always needs renewal and a new set of eyes and new perspective of looking at things.
For any position in government the most helpful 'skill' I believe is selfless service and commitment to the community being represented.
