Jose Valdez was a member of the Laredo Independent School District in Texas, representing District 1. Valdez left office in 2022.
Valdez won re-election to the Laredo Independent School District to represent District 1 in Texas outright after the general election on November 3, 2020, was canceled.

The general election was canceled. Jose Valdez (Nonpartisan) won without appearing on the ballot.
2016
Four of the seven seats on the Laredo Independent School District school board were up for general election on November 8, 2016. In Districts 1 and 4, incumbents Jose Valdez and Ricardo Garza won re-election without opposition. District 2 incumbent Jesus Martinez lost to challenger Cindy Liendo. District 7 incumbent Jose Perez defeated challengers Gilbert Hernandez and Isela Martinez.[1]
