General: He was defeated by incumbent Judge John C. Gannon in the general election on November 5, 2013, after receiving 41.4 percent of the vote.

Education
Mellace received his undergraduate degree from Utica College in 1993 and his J.D. from the University of Buffalo in 1998.[3]
Career
At the time of his candidacy, Mellace served as an assistant district attorney for Madison County. He also works as an attorney in private practice, specializing in criminal defense, family, and real estate law.[3]
