Joseph Aragona is lifelong resident of Macomb County. He graduated from Lutheran High School North North in 2006, and later earned his B.S. in Biomedical Diagnostics from Oakland University. He is currently studying for an Executive Masters in Business Administration from Michigan State University.

Joseph grew up working in the family business, Aragona Family Jewelers, where he learned the value of hard work, dedication, and fiscal responsibility. Later in his career he worked as a purchasing agent for an industrial electronic company located in Clinton Twp. Joseph also worked as an insurance agent where he learned the importance of customer service. Joseph was elected to the Clinton Twp. Board of Trustees in 2016 where he stood up for local businesses. He opposed the Governor Whitmers mandate to fine lawncare companies who worked outside during the pandemic. He was also a fierce defender of police organizations during his time on the board.

Joseph is currently the Deputy Supervisor in Harrison Twp. where he works as a day to day administrator, working hard to use tax-payer dollars wisely. Harrison Twp. is a lakefront community, so Joseph also considers water quality in Michigan a top tier priority.
  • Roads - Road dollars must be spent more wisely though out the state.
  • Mandates - End mask and vaccine mandates
  • Protecting Seniors - We need stiff punishments for those that prey on seniors
Joseph Aragona is a pro-life, pro-2A, fiscal conservative. He has and will continue to support the efforts of our police departments to protect our society.

Joseph started fishing with his father from a young age. As a result, Joseph is passionate about water quality and efforts to clean up our watershed.
During the pandemic, Joseph frequented many local businesses, and tried to bring public exposure to their hardship. Joseph grew up in a small business and continually advocates for local business throughout Macomb County.
Joseph respects everyone's right to choose whether to take the COVID-19 vaccine and opposes efforts to mandate it. He is also opposed to mask mandates.

Joseph understands that Michigan needs to fix a broken road funding system. Act 51 is a detriment to properly paved roads, especially in SE Michigan.
9-11 might not have been the first historic event, but I have a very strong memory of it from when I was 13 years old. I was in school and I remember sensing a fear from some of my teachers. I also remember the unity from everyone afterwards. I hope we can find that again.
The first job I had was working in my parents Jewelry Store, Aragona Family Jewelers. From a very young age I was cleaning counters, answering phones, helping customers, and even cleaning and repairing jewelry.
When you own a small business you don't have a job, you have a way of life. A small business is a family affair, not just a 9-5. My parents taught me to have a strong work ethic because it was our families way of life.
There are two related challenges. We have to ensure that we are a business friendly environment. If we don't want to eventually lose the next generation to better business friendly states, we have to ensure we work to improve our job growth.

Business and residents alike want and deserve better roads. Businesses looking to move to our state often need better infrastructure than what we currently have.

Besides making us more attractive to businesses, we have to focus on road repair and maintenance because our roads are some of the worst in the nation and our residents need the government to do a better job.
I think a blend of a variety of backgrounds is what makes a great legislature.
A legislator in Michigan is not a lawmaker, but a part a part of body that makes laws. No one legislator can make a law alone. Therefore relationships are a must.
The current Governor of Michigan has run away with emergency powers to the detriment of many residents and small businesses. The Governor has been tyrannical. The legislature in Michigan needs to oversee emergency powers and be able to end them.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Michigan

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
