Joseph Lindsey
Joseph Lindsey (Democratic Party) is a judge for the 4th Judicial District in Virginia. He was appointed to the court by Norfolk Circuit Court Chief Judge Mary Jane Hall on November 10, 2020.[1]
Previously, Lindsey was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing District 90. Lindsey assumed office in 2014. Lindsey resigned on November 15, 2020. He was first elected to the chamber in a special election on August 19, 2014.
Biography
Lindsey was born in Norfolk, Virginia, and attended Booker T. Washington High School. He received a B.A. in political science from the Hampton Institute and a J.D. from American University. His professional experience includes working as a personal injury, family law, criminal defense, and business attorney.[2]

A primary election took place on June 13, 2017. The filing deadline for primary election candidates was March 30, 2017. The filing deadline for non-party candidates and candidates nominated by methods other than a primary was June 13, 2017.[3] Incumbent Joseph Lindsey (D) ran unopposed in the Virginia House of Delegates District 90 general election.[4]

Elections for the Virginia House of Delegates took place in 2015. A primary election was held on June 9, 2015. The general election took place on November 3, 2015. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 26, 2015.[7] Incumbent Joseph C. Lindsey was unopposed in the Democratic primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[8][9]

The seat was vacant following Algie Howell's (D) retirement on June 30.[12]
