Joseph Calvitt Clarke, Jr. (1924-2004) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.[1]

Clarke was nominated by President Gerald Ford on December 11, 1974, to a seat vacated by Walter Hoffman; he was confirmed by the Senate on December 19, 1974, and received commission the next day. He assumed senior status on July 31, 1991, and served in that capacity until his death on May 6, 2004.[1] Clarke was succeeded in this position by Robert Payne.
