I'm self-employed. I moved back to Michigan from Virginia around the beginning of COVID after spending roughly a decade away working in different positions in the mobile industry. I grew up in the district. I attended Shrine until 8th grade before graduating in 2000 from Royal Oak Kimball where I was on the debate team. Following that I received a degree from Wayne State University in German that has allowed me incredible opportunities to live and work abroad. I was born here, and I have every intention to die here so the stakes are pretty damn high. There's no big house in another community in my future. If I won the lotto, I would build here.
  • Protect our Prosperity - The 6th State House District is an amazing part of Michigan that draws people from the entire Detroit Metro Area. I'd resist efforts to defund the critical programs that make our neighborhood such a great place.
  • NO FEAR. I'm not a sycophant. I'm not in a clique. I won't help pass legislation that is directly at odds with the wants and needs of my constituents. You're my boss. Full stop. It's a job I am not afraid of losing if I get it. I'm the kind of person who goes around demanding answers. Please send me to Lansing so I can get them for you.
  • The Dude Abides
Transportation. I've been a transportation geek since childhood. The number of hours I've logged building train networks on my computer is embarrassing. Legislatures constantly get this wrong because many people are working on old assumptions about human behavior and kids even wanting to drive. Many of them don't want to drive because they are afraid and rightfully so. I'm appalled at the speeds vehicles travel, especially when they're a large vehicle like the ubiquitous Ford 150. Michigan should strongly consider a type of tax that would discourage people from buying them unless they absolutely needed them for work or tow and to balance that, an exemption for qualifying businesses. Trucks scare me.
I'm not claiming Tom Hayden (Dondero grad) and I have the same philosophy, but everyone should give "The Port Huron Statement" a read.

The ability to listen closely and the ability to be deliberative in all of their actions. Ideally someone cut from the same cloth as their constituents. They also should possess knowledge on a diverse array of subjects so they don't face any steep learning curves when new issues, like AI, get put to the forefront. I also believe all people in office should understand computers very well. They run our lives.
I have the multidisciplinary experience to always be asking the right questions.
Just be remembered as a guy who really loved this place.
Selling hot dogs at Westborn Market. Not long, it was awful.
"Red Mars" - Kim Stanley Robinson. A hopeful but realistic assessment about what attempts to colonize Mars would look like.
Paladin from the old TV show "Have Gun Will Travel"
I love Bernie Sanders and I'll read the damn bill! So yeah..there will be some shouting.
As a rideshare driver, I hear A LOT of stories. A particular one doesn't come to mind, but I can say that in general people aren't alright. Even some in our district. They need our love and support.
How about you call the Comedy Castle at (248) 542-9900 and tell them to book me? I'm not giving out things for free here besides I think I'm specifically not allowed to do that. It would be like buying your vote.
There's a lot of stuff wrong with Uber and Lyft. On opening day a Berkley resident was paying $97 for a trip to the airport that I was only being paid $40 for. Only one state, Washington, has come up with a sufficient answer to gouging drivers and passengers.
