DeBragga ran for North Carolina Auditor in 2012. He lost against Greg Dority, Debra Goldman, Fern Shubert and Rudy Wright in the Republican primary on May 8.[1] Incumbent Beth Wood was unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.
