Prior to his appointment as commissioner, Hoage served as general counsel for the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. His professional experience also includes serving as general counsel for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and Indiana's Public Access Counselor.[1]

Indiana Commissioner of Labor (2020-2022)

Hoage was first appointed to office of Indiana Commissioner of Labor by Gov. Eric Holcomb (R) in July 2020, to succeed Rick Ruble.[2] In May 2022, he left the position after being appointed to Commissioner for the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. [3]

2020

Governor Eric Holcomb (R) appointed Hoage as Indiana Commissioner of Labor on July 1, 2020, to replace former commissioner Rick Ruble following Ruble's resignation.[2]
