Joseph K. Sullivan is a member of the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission. Sullivan assumed office on April 6, 2020. Sullivan's current term ends on January 5, 2026.
Gov. Tim Walz (D) appointed him to the position on March 10, 2020, effective April 6 of that year. Sullivan was appointed vice-chair of the commission on May 21, 2020.[1][2]
Although the position is officially nonpartisan, the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission identified him as a Democrat.[1]
Biography
Prior to his appointment, Sullivan served as deputy commissioner for the Division of Energy Resources at the Minnesota Department of Commerce. He was also the manager of legislative and external affairs for the Center for Energy and Environment, the regional policy manager for Wind on the Wires, and senior attorney at Flaherty & Hood P.A.[1]
