Joseph L. Claypool is a judge for the Harrison County Superior Court in Harrison County, Indiana. He was elected to the court on November 4, 2014, for a term commencing on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2020.[1]

Claypool ran for election to the Harrison County Superior Court.
Primary: He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on May 6, 2014.
General: He defeated Dennis Byrd in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 51.7 percent of the vote. [1][2] 

Education

Claypool earned his B.S. from the Indiana University School of Business. He earned his J.D. from the Indiana School of Law. He also holds an MBA from the Indiana University School of Business.[3]

Career

Before his election to the Harrison County Superior Court, Claypool was a partner at the law firm of Stewart and Irwin. He also previously was a partner at the firm of Lewis and Kappes, worked as the administrative director of the Indianapolis Zoo, practiced law with the firm of Ancel & Dunlap, worked as an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and served as a regulator and police officer with the Indiana Gaming Commission. In 1991, Claypool served as the executive director of the World Gymnastics Championships.[3]
