Joseph L. Wildman
Joseph L. Wildman was nominated on March 18, 2011 to serve a 10-year term on the Maui Second Circuit Court, Hawaii by Gov. Neil Abercrombie. On March 30, the Governor's judicial selection commission withdrew the nomination, citing "an unresolved situtation" with Wildman's law firm.[1]
When Gov. Abercrombie announced his appointment of Wildman, he issued a statement saying, "I have full trust and faith in Joe's experience and judgment. He always put the interests of the people first and I believe he will serve honorably on the Second Circuit."[2]
Education
A graduate of the University of Hawaii-Manoa, Wildman's law degree is from the Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles.[3]
Career
Wildman was admitted to the Hawaii bar in 1986. He worked at two different law firms in Honolulu before starting his own law practice in 1989. After moving to Maui in August 2005, Wildman joined the Wailuku law firm Takitani & Agaran, where he worked as a plaintiffs' personal injury attorney.[4] Gil Keith-Agaran, a Democratic state legislator, is a partner in Takitani & Agaran.[4]
