Joseph Lee
L. Joseph Lee was a judge of the Mississippi Court of Appeals from 1998 to 2018. He was elected to the court in 1998 and re-elected in 2002 and 2010. Lee retired December 31, 2018.[1]
Lee served as a presiding judge from 2004 to 2011. Lee served as chief judge from 2011 to 2018.[2]
Education
Lee was born in 1945 in Poplarville, Mississippi. He graduated with a B.S. from William Carey College in 1969 and received his law degree from Jackson School of Law in 1973.[2]
Career
Lee began practicing law in Jackson after law school. From 1995 to 1999, he worked as an adjunct professor at William Carey College. He served in various organizations and legal associations throughout his career.[2]
2010 election
Lee was re-elected after running unopposed.[3]
