Joseph "Joe" Marx was a judge of the 15th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed by former Governor Charlie Crist on July 15, 2009. He replaced Judge Jonathan D. Gerber. He was elected in 2012 to a full term that expires in January of 2019.[1][2] Marx retired from the court on January 31, 2022.[3]

Joe Marx is married to fellow former Circuit Judge Krista Marx.[4]

Education

Marx received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Florida in 1986 and 1989, respectively.[5]

Career

Marx began his career in 1989 as an assistant state attorney. He then practiced as an associate with the firm of Burman, Critton, Luttier and Coleman from 2001 to 2003. In June of 2003, he was appointed to the Palm Beach County Court (effective in August), where he served until he was elevated to the circuit court in 2009.[4][5]

2012 election

Marx was unopposed and automatically re-elected following the primary election on August 14, 2012.[6]
