Joseph F. McCloskey (b. October 9, 1929 - d. September 16, 2021) was a senior judge on the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court. He joined the court as a senior judge on January 6, 1998 after retiring from the Schuylkill County Common Pleas Court, where he served as judge from 1975 to 1998. On the Schuylkill County Common Pleas Court, McCloskey served as president judge from 1980 to 1998.

Education

McCloskey received his B.S. from Shippensburg State College in 1952 and his J.D. from Villanova University Law School in 1957.[1]

Career

Before he became a judge, McCloskey was an attorney in private practice. He did legal work for a number of school districts, municipalities and authorities, served as an assistant attorney general and was a workmen's compensation referee from 1972 to 1975.[1]
