Joseph N. Malphrus, Jr.
Joseph N. Malphrus, Jr. (b. August 24, 1962) was a Probate Judge for Jasper County, South Carolina.[1] Malphrus was first elected to this position on January 4, 1999 and he resigned on June 6, 2011.[2][3]
2010 election
Malphrus, Jr. defeated Donetta S. Orr-Hamilton in the Democratic primary election, winning 71.61% of the vote. He was re-elected after running unopposed in the general election.[4]
Education
Malphrus earned his B.S. in business administration from the University of South Carolina in 1984. He went on to receive his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1987.[2]
Career
Malphrus began working as a lawyer in Ridgeland in 1988. He was also elected as Mayor of Ridgeland, South Carolina, in 1988 and was re-elected in 1991 and 1995. He was then elected to the position of Probate Judge of Jasper County on January 4, 1999.[2]
