Joseph Pierron
G. Joseph Pierron, Jr. is a former judge on the Kansas Court of Appeals. He was appointed by Republican Governor Mike Hayden and served on the court from December 11, 1990, until his retirement on April 3, 2020.[1][2][3]
Education
Pierron received his undergraduate degree from Rockhurst College in 1968 and his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1971.[2]
Career
Pierron began his legal career in 1971 as an assistant county and district attorney in Johnson County. In 1972, he served as a municipal judge of Spring Hill. He became a district judge for the 10th Judicial District Court in Olathe in 1982, and he held this position until his appointment to the Kansas Court of Appeals in 1990.[2]

Pierron successfully stood for retention on November 6, 2012.[5][6] He was retained to the Kansas Court of Appeals with 74 percent of the vote, earning 654,838 yes votes.[7]
