Joseph Scarpa was a 2013 Republican candidate for District 38 of the New Jersey General Assembly.[1]

Biography

Scarpa earned his bachelor's degree in political science from Seton Hall University in 1988, his Master's Degree in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1999 and his Leadership Development Certificate from Rutgers University in 2005. His professional experience includes working as a chief legislative aide in the U.S. Senate and as the current Mayor of Rochelle Park.[2]

Campaign themes

On their shared campaign website, Scarpa and Joan Fragala stated that they were running for State Assembly to "provide middle-class families with the property tax relief they deserve and create jobs."[3]

Scarpa ran in the 2013 election for New Jersey General Assembly District 38. Scarpa was unopposed in the June 4 Republican primary. He was defeated by Joseph Lagana (D) and incumbent Timothy J. Eustace (D) in the general election on November 5, 2013.[4][5][6][7]
