Joseph W. Eichelberger is a judge of the Orphans Court of Washington County in Washington County, Maryland.[1] He previously served as judge on this court from 2002 to December 3, 2010.[2] Eichelberger was elected again on November 4, 2014, to a term that expires on December 31, 2018.[3]

Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on June 24, 2014, receiving 19.9 percent of the vote. He competed against Cassandra Laverne Costley, Paul Cox, and incumbent Judges Frank E. Novinger, Robert Adair, and John M. Shriver. Primary candidates competed for 3 seats.
General: He faced Cassandra Laverne Costley, Linda Davis, Eileen W. Wiggins, and incumbent Judge John M. Shriver in the general election on November 4, 2014, and won with 24.6 percent of the vote. Candidates competed for three open seats.

Career
Prior to his election to the bench, Eichelberger was retired from the Maryland Division of Correction.[5]
