Joseph W. McGowan, III
Joseph W. McGowan, III was a family court judge for the Eighth Judicial Circuit in South Carolina.[1] He was elected to the court by the South Carolina General Assembly on February 10, 1999.[2][3] He retired in 2017.[4]
Education
McGowan earned his B.S. from Newberry College in 1974 and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1978.[2]
Career
After graduating from law school, McGowan practiced law with his firm of Abercrombie and McGowan in Laurens, South Carolina. He also previously served as a commissioner of public works for Laurens.[2]
