Josh’s path hasn’t been easy. After losing his mom at a young age and having an unstable childhood, he learned early on the value of resilience, accountability, and showing up for others. Those lessons now guide his approach to leadership.
For more than a decade, Josh has owned and operated a local business. This experience taught him how to set priorities, manage limited budgets, and follow through. On the Sammamish Planning Commission, he focused on preserving our tree canopy and advocating for new development to align with community values.
He also serves on the board of PAWS, a leading animal welfare organization for wildlife and companion animals. He helps lead the Sammamish Rotary’s annual Christmas Tree Lot, which raises tens of thousands of dollars for food banks and educational grants that directly support local families.
Josh is running because he believes city government should work for you by delivering results. That means managing the budget responsibly, investing in infrastructure and emergency preparedness, and making sure every dollar serves the people who live here.- Write a Responsible and Inclusive Budget We can protect core services, ensure transparency in decision-making, and bring residents into the budgeting process while avoiding more financial strain on working families with unnecessary tax increases.
- Balance Growth to Protect Sammamish We can welcome new neighbors, support diverse housing options, and plan smarter so growth strengthens our city rather than reshapes it.
- Parks and Recreation: Opportunities for Every Family Imagine a Sammamish where every family has a place to belong. Where kids can play, teens can gather, and neighbors connect across generations. As your councilmember, I’ll strive to make our parks and gathering spaces more joyful, inclusive, and ready for every season of life.
Fixing Our Infrastructure: Get stalled road projects moving and prepare for future emergencies.
Ensuring Balanced Growth: Tie development to infrastructure and protect neighborhood character.
Throughout that time there were people who provided support. A neighbor took us to the fair. A teacher mentored me. Someone from our church would pick us up and watch us after school and feed us dinner. There are many more like that.
