Campaign themes
2014
Lang's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[2]
Supporting Veterans
- Excerpt: "Education is a key piece to reducing our veteran unemployment and boosting our economy in Pennsylvania. I also plan on introducing a bill that will award a minimum percentage of state contracts to veteran-owned businesses. Finally, I will work to promote programs that will expand veteran-owned businesses throughout Pennsylvania."
Leading by Example
- Excerpt: "As your elected leader I will lead by example by strengthening "right to know" laws to ensure an open and transparent form of government. In addition, I believe it is important that each of you are aware of the services that each of the district offices provide. I will work to expand outreach to each of my constituents through social media, video blogs, town halls, conference calls, newsletters and other feasible means."
Jobs & Economy
- Excerpt: "One of my top priorities if I’m elected as your state representative is job creation and boosting our economy. I am a firm believer in small government policies to produce a robust economy. I will work hard to reduce regulations that have harmed our business community. Businesses have vested time, money and resources and should be afforded to opportunity to flourish."
Marcellus Shale & Energy
- Excerpt: "I will work to ensure that Pennsylvania remains the top energy supplier in America. I look forward to working with organizations to expand the energy industry in Pennsylvania in order to bring future economic benefits to the 78th district. I will make sure that the Marcellus Shale, coal and other energy industries are held accountable all the way down to the municipal level."
Pro-Life
- Excerpt: "If I’m elected as your next state representative I will fight to bring strong conservative values and morals. As a pro-life conservative, I strongly stand behind my belief that all human beings have the right to life from the moment of conception. I do not support using taxpayer dollars to fund abortions, unless to protect the life of the mother or in the case of rape or incest."
