My name is Josh Rieves and I am a mechanic who loves Jesus. I have been repairing and maintaining cars for 28 years. I've been an ASE certified master automobile technician for 25 years. I opened my own repair shop here in DeWitt 15 years ago. Cars are not easy to fix these days, but I do my best to stay up-to-date with tools and training. The next thing I want to fix is government. On the federal and state level we need a major overhaul. Pronto. That is why I decided to run for the Arkansas House of Representatives seat 61. The tools needed are: 1. The word of God. 2. The Declaration of Independence/ U.S. Constitution. 3. The Holy Spirit to use the study of these first two tools and apply these principles and put them into practice concerning current issues with great boldness.
  • I want to protect our children from adult themes in school by treating anyone who introduces sexually explicit lessons to 5th graders or younger as a sex offender and put them on a sex offender registry.
  • I want to immediately and permanently destroy unemployment. We need workers.
  • I want to amend the US Constitution by repealing the 16th and 17th amendments , along along with amendments to get a balanced budget, term limits and auditing the federal reserve for starters.
Getting the power back to the people by putting major limits on government at all levels.
Jesus. Jesus. He is the author and perfector of my faith
Love. Joy. Peace. Patience. Kindness. Goodness. Faithfulness. Gentleness. Self-control. (Holy Spirit)
Protect the rights of the people. Refer to the Declaration of Independence. That my friends is the purpose of all government. Period.
A man who trusted Jesus even to the very end.
Challenger disaster. 12 years old. Coach Myric and President Reagan helped us through this tragedy.
Cutting grass, did this several summers.
Proverbs. Daily life wisdom.
The governor should fear the power of the lawmakers and the people. Think about it, in the United States we are free. Executives in government execute the laws, think law enforcement, they don't tell you what to do, they only approach you if you are breaking the law. Governors don't tell us how to live or when to shut down businesses, schools, or certainly not churches. Judicial branch doesn't tell us what to do either, they interpret law, and only when a trial is justified. Lawmakers are the only one who can make laws. We need to remember this and remind governors.
Government. Needs to be chopped to 1/3 size. Taxes need to be eliminated or lowered on every level to get businesses to move or open here.
No. Paul says in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 a man who doesn't work should not eat, I certainly concur but further I believe if one doesn't work he shouldn't be allowed to vote on laws either. We need career politicians to be voted out of office. I plan to work on cars until the session begins, then vote on laws, immediately returning to my business and remume working. Real life is calling but most politicians are not picking up the phone.
I never met the family and she wasn't in my district, but a young lady was killed at a university in Little Rock about ten years ago, and I can't stop thinking about why she didn't shoot the attacker. The reason was the government didn't think she should be allowed to carry a weapon. I have been an advocate for gun right ever since. More handguns in the hands of women means more confidence and less crime.
No. Laws should be passed one at a time. Adding bad to good is an abomination according to Isaiah 5:20
